On 1 September 2004, Toyota launched the AN40 series Innova, badged every bit Kijang Innova in Indonesia. The Innova is powered by either a 2.0-litre petrol 136 PS (100 kW) 1TR-FE VVT-i, a 2.7-litre petrol 160 PS (118 kW) 2TR-FE VVT-i, or a 2.v-litre 102 PS (75 kW) 2KD-FTV D-4D common track turbocharged diesel engine. Trim levels are J, E, K, and V. The 2.7-litre unit is simply offered for the Five trim, paired solely with four-speed automatic transmission.

In early 2007, the engines on the Indonesian market Kijang Innova were updated to comply with the Euro 2 emission standards. The facelifted Innova was released on 26 August 2008. It featured a redesigned front end and rear bumper, front grille, and rear tail lamps. The Five trim use updated wheels, while the previous wheels used on the pre-facelift model Five trim were installed on the G trim. On 22 July 2011, Toyota-Astra Motor launched the 2d facelift of the Innova. Information technology featured redesigned headlights, grille, bonnet, bumpers and tail lights. Republic of india [edit]
In India, the Innova is available with twelve variants. 3 variants of the Innova come with a petrol engine option which is powered by a 1,998 cc, 1TR-FE, petrol, inline four-cylinder petrol engine with electronic fuel injection. The diesel variants of the Innova are powered by two,494 cc, 2KD-FTV diesel with intercooler and turbocharger iv-cylinder engine. In 2012, "Z" was made as a flagship class to a higher place the VX. The second generation Innova, designated AN140 serial, was launched on 23 November 2015 in Jakarta, Republic of indonesia. Bharat [edit]
For the Indian market, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) showcased the second-generation Innova at Auto Expo in February 2016. Marketed as the "Innova Crysta", this generation was launched in May 2016.[20] Exclusive for this model is a ii.8-litre 1GD-FTV inline-four turbocharged diesel engine.[21] The Innova launched in May 2016 as with ii diesel engine options: the two.8-litre 1GD-FTV diesel fuel and the 2.4-litre 2GD-FTV diesel. The 2.viii-litre engine gets the six-speed automatic manual with sequential shift while the ii.four-litre gets the five-speed manual transmission.[22] In August 2016, the ii.vii-litre 2TR-Fe petrol engine option was introduced. The petrol engine is mated with either a v-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift according to different trim levels.
The Indian specification AN140 employs a double wishbone suspension with curlicue springs and stabilizer up front and a 4-link with coil spring and lateral road suspension at the rear. In 2020, the two.8-litre 1GD-FTV engine was discontinued for the Indian market due to the implementation of Republic of india Stage 6 emission standard.[24] The 2.viii-litre automatic variant was after replaced with the 2.4-litre automatic variant. Republic of indonesia [edit]
The AN140 serial Innova was launched in Indonesia on 23 November 2015. The facelift model of the Kijang Innova was released on 15 Oct 2020.[33] The Q trim was removed from the lineup and replaced by the Luxury variant of G and V trims with captain seats. It too marked the revival of Luxury variant of G and 5 trims, afterward four year and eleven-months hiatus. Vehicle stability control and hill-start assist became standard on all trims.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Toyota-Astra Motor, the limited edition variant of the Kijang Innova was made bachelor in April 2021. Just 50 units were sold, which consists of xxx units based on ii.0 V Luxury trim and 20 units based on 2.4 Venturer trim, both with automatic transmission.[34]
The transmission transmission option for the Venturer trim was removed in January 2022.[35]

Malaysia [edit]
The AN140 Innova was launched in Malaysia on 5 December 2016. It is assembled by UMW Toyota Motor at its Shah Alam facility in Malaysia. Initial trim levels were the E and G models.[36]
In September 2017, UMW Toyota introduced a flagship variant, chosen the 2.0 X.[37]
The facelifted Innova was launched in Malaysia on ii February 2021. Trim levels remained the same as the pre-facelift model.[38]
